From what I can tell these two boxcars are somewhat rare. I'm not sure when they were made.

I didn't know MTH did an M&E boxcar. I got the Atlas Trainman version from The Public Delivery Track. I believe they still have both the 3R and 2R version in stock.
Yes MTH did come out with the Morristown Erie boxcars with 2 road numbers 20-93511. I have 2 of them & have been searching for more. http://mthtrains.com/20-93511
The MTH cars were a special run for Dohertys Whistle Stop a total 107 cars were made.
I do miss that place :-)
Cool. Somehow I never heard about them or I certainly would have ordered them from Doherty's.
I imagine they are hard to find if this was some time ago. Most of the time stuff like this held on to by their owners and never reaches the secondary market.

Not true. I got mine from a friend two months ago. If there is a will there is a way.
I have one. Got it from Mario's Trains. It's one of my favorite cars! MTH needs to make us an M&E diesel. :-)

You are not the only one. I got one or two of them red cars, very nice cars.
I may consider selling one for 5000.00 or so.

Just because it was easy for you to find doesn't mean it will be easy for everyone. I have never even seen one much less seen one far sale. Heck I didn't even know they made it until this thread.
Just out of curiosity, what era do this M&E boxcars fit in? I mean, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, or newer?
Never heard of M&E before this post yesterday and then on my way home a saw a M&E Switcher working at a refinery along the New Jersey Turnpike

They're pretty much identical to the #200 sold on Public Delivery Track.

Morristown & Erie is one of the many NJ shortlines. You must of seen the switcher working at the Bayway Refinery. Lucky you, I haven't been able to get over there and see them yet. M&E is a quality railroad who pays attention to quality customer service.

Since I have no idea what you are referring to, I ask the question again. What prototype era are these cars from, i.e. 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, or newer?
I would say they are from the 1950s just a plain Jane steel boxcar. I beleave the M&E did have a few boxcars but somehow ended up in Mexico and were never heard from again.

You probably know that Atlas offered two roadnumbers ... 18 and 19 ... of M&E C-424's some 10 years back. I think they sold well.
Here's the real #18 working right near my house .....

And a model of RS-1 15 was released as well.

Sorry, should've been more specific. I would say late 50's to early 60's. M&E never had any boxcars as far as I'm aware of.
