Hello all just looking for some help if anyone can spare some advice,

I have a MTH Premier Big Boy from the 2015 run.  I haven't had any problems with it until recently as when the engine goes around a curve it appears as if it disconnects from the engine and tender as the lights remain on the engine, but the tender stops producing the chuffing sounds or any sounds for that matter.  When this happens the engine will stop running and only the front lights to the engine remain on until I power it down (it won't respond to DCS when this happens).  When I remove the train from the track and place it on a straight section and reconnect the drawbar it works fine for a little while until when suddenly around a curve this disconnect happens.

I'm no expert, but I was thinking maybe it's a draw bar issue and that replacing the draw bar will help.  Has anyone ever dealt with a similar issue?

Oh and this only happens to this one particular engine and the rest of my MTH fleet runs just perfectly fine.

Thanks for the help everyone!

It may be a drawbar issue but it may not need to be replaced. Disconnect it from the tender and swing the drawbar side to side. Does it move freely all the way? If not, there may be not enough slack in the harness thats pulling the connector on the engine side loose. You may have to remove the shell and give it a bit more slack.
