MTH Premier Diesel starts up as soon as track power is turned on. It doesn't matter if it's the only engine on the layout or if there are 7 additional engines on the layout. It's the only one that always starts up. It doesn't matter where on the track it's sitting. I did a factory reset and that didn't make a difference. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Model #? PS2 or PS3?
Try a conventional reset. Power the track without DCS and do the 1W 5B presses. Two horn toots is reset successful.
Does the engine have a DCC / DCS switch ... it will behave this way if it's on DCC.
Thank you, I can easily do that. I've used that 'trick' for other glitches but never thought of it for this problem.
It's a PS3, the GE-44 tonner. The DDC/DCS switch is set at DCS.
once started is it stuck in neutral?
So you say it starts up, will it respond to commands from the remote once you select it and press start up?
I have a couple of PS3's that do that but not my new 44 tonner. Not sure why it happens but it does. There was a thread on this previously where it was referred to as a "rogue start". In my case I improved things with one engine by parking it away from track areas with a weak DCS signal.
Engineer-Joe: When it starts up you can sound the horn, bell, change direction (red button function), etc., but it will not move using the wheel. It also can be shutdown from the remote. It's odd because the conventional reset it's working on DCS. I switched it to DDC and the reset worked, I got the two horn toots. Switched it back to DCS and still didn't reset and no change on the track. Puzzling.
WillyGee; Yes once started it is stuck in neutral.
Both of my PS3 FT diesels start up as soon as the track gets power too. Once I select the engine ID from the remote and hit START, they act normal. I can shut them down and start them back up, but once I cycle the track power they start right up again. They are the only ones I have that do that, and I have other PS3 engines.
