Uncataloged Premier O Scale 36' Woodside Reefers Announced
March 30, 2023 - M.T.H. Electric Trains has announced an exclusive and uncataloged Premier Line O Scale 36' Woodside Reefer in a unique Fidelio Beer livery. Available in limited quantities, the cars are available in two individually numbered cars and mark another release in a long line of M.T.H. offerings by the NJ Hi-Railers. Item No. 20-94661 Fidelio Beer 36’ Woodsided Reefer Car Item No. 20-94662 Fidelio Beer 36’ Woodsided Reefer Car ABOUT THE FIDELIO BEER REEFER Up until the mid 1890's Fidelio Beer was originally known as H. Koehler Beer. The brewery was located on First Avenue and Twenty-Ninth Street in Manhattan. Fidelio Beer was very popular in Manhattan and Hoboken NJ. The owner of Fidelio Brewery, Samuel Goldberger survived prohibition by marketing a "Near Beer '' and A Purity Brand Malt Tonic. After the Volstead Act was repealed, Fidelio Beer was more popular simply because most of New York’s Breweries failed to survive. Fidelio was the exclusive brewer of McSorley's Cream Ale. In the 1940s, Fidelio went public changing its name to The Greater New York Brewery. Unfortunately, the President of The Greater New York Brewery was known to be one of the greatest stock swindlers of all time which led to the company's demise. In 1950, The Greater New York Brewery operations were moved to Cypress Hills in Brooklyn, and in 1953 operations ceased. Electric Trains will be releasing a slew of limited-edition Christmas releases beginning this Fall including an ES44 Diesel locomotive and matching caboose, Bump-n-Go Trolleys, Operating Hand Car, several complementing box cars, Gondolas with Lighted Snowmen, an ALL-NEW Flat Car with Lighted Christmas Trees that feature a Lighted Star, a Flat Car with a Lighted Nativity Scene and a lighted Country Passenger Station. Many of these offerings will be available in Christmas themes and in North Pole themes and all are a great way to add to your own holiday collection of past cars, sets, and buildings.
