I have a MTH Premier PRR 0-4-0 PS-2 version with the 3 volt boards. I opened the tender and found it has a battery pack made up of two AAA sized batteries. Would a BCR-2 be a proper application should I choose to eliminate batteries?
The pack that is in there is the older (I believe) green battery pack..

Yes, the BCR 2 is the correct BCR replacement for the 2.4 volt AA-sized battery in PS2 3 volt engines.
Thank you Barry. The battery pack that is in there now is a 2.4 pack made up of two AAA batteries. It is a 3v system so the BCR 2 should do the job.

Yep, small engines got the AAA type 2.4V pack and the standard AA is for any engine that can handle it. I found the AAA to have a shorter life than the AA. Going BCR2 is a good fix for the AAA type. G
