Hi,

I created a lash-up of two MTH Railking ES44AC locomotives.  When running on my layout, the lash-up runs at same areas a little "herky jerky".  When I run the the locomotives singly, they run smoothly with no "herky jerky".  The track is clean.  Is there anything that I can do to have a smooth running lash-up?

Thanks,

Bo

I had the same thing happen.  Couple of things you might try which worked for me.  If running both engines front to front, try running rear engine facing rear.  Switch engine positions worked for me.  Also, I found"herky jerky" if running below 4 mph.  Sometimes I have problems with one engine starting and the other staying silent. When this happens, it's usually the engineer's fault for not bringing up the handles quick enough.  Then I just shut down and start again.  Barry's DCS compaign book has a chapter on lash-ups.  I ran two lash-ups and a single on my layout without problems with a Z4000.  Enjoy your trains and the hobby!!
