I have a fairly new GP38 that I did a factory engine reset on using the iPad app. Now, my DCS app will not find the engine. It finds all my others, but not this one. Maybe there's a procedure I should have followed?? I had it powered up on the track when I did it. It still runs if I switch to a track with conventional power but the DCS will no longer bring it up. Did I smoke something??

Doing a factory reset should not damage the engine. Fairly new doesn't tell us much, how about an actual model number?
It's a 20-21229-1. I should add that it would run forward through switches without a problem, but would get stuck it those same switches in reverse. I began by blaming the switches, but my other 3-4 MTH engines don't get stuck. I dismantled the trucks and cleaned everything well, only to have the problem continue. That's why I tried a reset. Hope that helps!
Don't know why that would happen, I'm thinking you should find another layout to test on. If that fails, send it back under warranty, it's obviously less than a year old.

I have found that when the DCS system glitches on an engine, if I put the engine on my test track, with the z1000 and z750 controller.
Running in conventional mode makes the engine behave when I put it on the DCS layout.
Did you check signal Strength with that engine when it was in the remote? Can be poor ground terminal, bad pickup continuity on one truck. May have DCS/DCC switch issue, can have wire harness interference over the board. Caps need to lay horizontal not vertical. Search can get you info with pictures. G
