I had used started this unit months past and I seem to recall, had to reset xfmr due to short.  Could that have 'frozen' those operations like bell, whistle, train talk etc?   If so, should I send it off for repair?

Anyway, I have a special set of track that I only run my few MTH locos on using a z-500 xfmr and remote commander receiver.

Mind, I don't have a problem with none of those items not working but perhaps there is a fix?

Thanks for any replies, Guys.

Two things to note:

1. MTH product numbers usually appear as XX-XXXXX, and sometimes as XX-XXXX-X.  Most of their engine product numbers were like 20-XXXXX or 30-XXXXX. The info you provided has wrong amount of numbers.  Please check the box because correct product numbers helps us help you.

2. Second, you mentioned a short and resetting a transformer.  If it was a bad enough short, you might have fried your command boards.  If you put the engine on the track now with power, does it do anything?
