When running the MTH SD9 Diesel with DCS it keeps shorting out when it hits a couple of 6-5132 switches and one relay area. But runs fine over other switches and relays. On a rare occasion it makes it through these areas without shorting out. Have no problems with other engines. Is there any way to raise the frame (body) a little or is this a common problem?

Try to figure out exactly why and where the short occurs. Sometimes a small piece of tape will solve a problem like that. What do you mean by running over a relay?
Some engines (and Freight cars) I have, the wheels short on only some switches in some directions. Some liquid electrical tape on the inside of the rail where the short occurs will solve this.

If you're looking for the exact location, start with a clean rail and wheels, then run the engine over the problem area. You can usually spot the little arc marks on the track and/or the wheels to see exactly what is shorting where. Then you can apply the appropriate fix.
Thanks for input. I will try these options. In regards to the relay, it seems to happen when it trips the relay that runs the crossing gates. But it doesn't seem to happen as often on the other relays.
