the proto 1 smoke units, they run strait on track power or do I have to regulate to power going in to it?..I dont want to mess this smoke unit up..I proubley change the body housing..dont like the 2 piece version..did change the fan..had a 6 blade and one on my junk unit had a 8 blade fan.=more air it will suck in=more smoke it will blow out.

If you want more smoke then very carefully enlarge the intake hole. Also make sure the wick is folded in so that it doesn't block the hole between the chambers. The unit I sent you smoked pretty dang good at 14 Volts, but if you want more then that then try my suggestion.

paul i did those mods lastnight the same mods that mike reagen /TAS/lionel showed on the youtube video..it smokes alot more then it used to on that short video you did on it...the reason why id ask you guy my main question is because the board and wick bowl gets hot with in a min..just care fir the body being 2 piece unit..=dont seal well.had smoke comming out the center seal..Paul what smoke fluid did you ran in it?

Whatever scent of JT's MegaSteam that is down on the bench. The rubber gasket has to sit tight or it will leak between the chambers, what I have found the easiest is to get the wicking in place and lower the top on it and start the screws just enough so they don't fall out, flip the whole unit upside down and slide the rubber gasket in. I use a dental probe to get it positioned and tighten the screws while it is still upside down and watch that you don't let the rubber gasket move.

If the electronics to your smoker looks like this with 2 heating elements, then the power to the heating elements varies with track voltage. So if practical to adjust the AC voltage you can get more smoke though the case will get hotter.  It's a clever regulator that powers one or both elements depending on track voltage but it's not a simple straight-line relationship of heat vs. voltage.  Separately, the motor fan voltage has a regulator IC that keeps its voltage constant regardless of AC track voltage.  For a fixed voltage, the motor RPM decreases as increasing the blade count generally increases the load on the motor so there's a tradeoff.
