Beth, how about a Rutland RS 1. # 405. You could also offer it lettered for the Green Mountain in excursion service.

Its certainly under consideration.   I was hesitant cause Atlas did the Rutland RS-1 twice, and the Green Mountain once.  What other shortlines/regionals were known for their RS-1's?   AW&W comes to mid for me, but IDK if that RR has a following like Rutland does.

There's also Illinois Terminal, and the Genessee and Wyoming in the orange and black.   I think IT has been done, but not G&W. 

Any other ideas?   Railroads with a following are the best

Yes please on the Rutland and Green mountain! The Atlas Rutland is hard to find but when it does come up it gets a premium. The Green Mountain RS-1 is impossible to find, have been looking for years. Or a Green Mountain GP9 804 which has never been done.

OK. thanks.  The others I've found that I like at Maryland and Delaware, and   Atlanta and St Andrews Bay,  I know nothing about RR's in the southeast, but apparently they had a lot of RS-1's.

An orange G&W would be very welcome! I have the 1976 bicentennial G&W rs-1 and the orange would pair well with it!

Beth how about an ALCO S2 in MCRR/Monongahela Connecting out of Pittsburgh, PA. The railroad was owned by the J&L Steel Corportion. Lionel did a set about 20 years ago with a dockside and 3 hot metal cars and MTH did a set of hot metal cars for this RR but no S2. I am going to custom paint one if I can find someone to make the deacals at a reasonable price but I would most definitely buy one if made. I can even supply you with correct road numbers if you like. There are a lot folks on this forum from Western PA and Eastern Ohio that may also be interested in one.

Atlas bought the S2 tooling.  So no MTH custom runs on S2's

Has MTH released the BNSF anniversary cars and caboose yet?

If Atlas has the S2 tooling, I can do special runs with them.  Question is what will be their minimum order qty and their price per engine?     Ive done about 40 special runs with Atlas so far. 

Otherwise, there are SOOOOOOOO many roads that could be done on S-2's.  For the Pittsburgh area, my fav would be Weirton Steel, if it hasnt been done already.  Then theres McKeesport Connecting, Buffalo creek, LA junction, ST&E, D&H, LV, EL, P&PU, CV, PTM, MEC, South buffalo, SP&S, San Francisco Belt...and the list goes on.

I think we have one set of the MTH Premier BNSF Anniversary box cars in stock.  Its not up on the web yet.

Patrick's Trains did a special run of MTH Weirton Steel S-2s recently. Some are still available in either green or black.

Two thumbs up for anything Vermont! Rutland, CV or Vermont Railways! But if you had to pick one, I'd go with Vermont Railways.

I just bought the WbB Rutland 70 ton. I'd be in for more. While we're on NE roads, how about BAR or MEC?

I bought the Rutland 70T you described and sent it back. I want noise and smoke and that just didn't; pull it off. But yes, definite into MEC, Pan AM, Guilford, etc....

Appears that MRL is mostly handling overhead traffic for BNSF, so BNSF wants it back.   Im guessing that the BNSF offered enuf money to the right ppl to make them go for it.  Needs regulatory approval, etc.  Ppl are saying 6 to 12 months for approval, etc

Somebody could make a 35th Anniversary freight car for the Montana Rail Link.

Been done.  We have them in Weaver PS-1, and Atlas 40' box cars.

Afaik, they are being absorbed by the CP.   CP power now running east of Montreal, and CMQ power scattered throughout the system.    Expect that the CMQ power will be retired.  This paint scheme and RR was only around for a few years.  Dont know that there's a big enough following.   Would need to sell about 40 GP38's at about 500$ each just to break even.  The SD40 "Barns" , which they were famous for, have never been made in O gauge, other than possibly brass or a kit-bash.

Well, there are a number of fan of Canadian Railroads as well as New England Railroads. The Central Maine and Quebec appeals to both. The other factor is that it is a very attractive paint scheme.

Beth, I believe you were considering Pennsylvania Reading Seashore R50bs. Is that still a possibility?

I would be in for two of a Central Maine and Quebec loco. It is  indeed an attractive paint scheme.

Hi Jan,  isn't there a thread for Canadian Railroad fans here on the forum? Darn if I can't find it now. But perhaps if we propose this locomotive to the larger group we can generate enough interest for Beth/MTH to consider doing it?

Sorry, not at this time.  AFAIK, the PRSL never really had them, and anyone could run a PRR R50B on a PRSL train, and it would be right at home.

I would also consider a CM&Q to two, since I've seen them a few times in real life, and they are sharp!

Here's an interesting one. EMD SW 8. Switched Steel mills in the South Chicago area.

Re RS 1's...

Ann Arbor Railroad nos. 20 and 21 in both the early (Wabash) flag scheme and Ferry-in-the-Fog (orange) scheme.  Yeah, I know, someone already did the early scheme, but I'm not so sure about the later Ferry-in-the-Fog paint job.

Very popular in Meeeshigan area.

Can only find pix of the AA RS-1 in the wabash scheme, the DT&I compass, and the late orange/white/black scheme.   If u have pix of AA RS-1 in "Follow the flag" scheme, please post.
