I’m just curious if anyone out there has experienced the strange event that took place for me when I was shutting down my Railking F-3 proto sound 2 engine. I was using the extended shut down and just before it turned off it made about three frog croaking sounds. I did a double take and couldn’t believe my ears! 😆

possibly the board reset sounds when it completes a sound file flash load? Should go away.
Just wanted to be sure I wasn’t losing my mind! 🤣. I have enough frogs in our backyard.
The board sounds from a FLASH load don't sound like frogs.
I've attached the sound files for a good and failed FLASH load.

Oops. I thought this was a new engine!
Always tuff to guess at what someone else is hearing without a video to hear it.
Believe it or not that is a croaking frog. I have engines that do that as well. I also have engines that have barking dogs on extended shutdown
All normal sounds.
We had Roy at MTH do this one for us... https://youtu.be/YlGvt5tp5XI

A number of the MTH engines have the barking dogs. You may have to use the extended shutdown to hear them.
I had a ProtoSound 2 GP40 that had barking dogs on the extended shutdown sequence. So, the croaking frogs don't surprise me.
Thanks everyone! I knew I’d get the answers here. I’m glad there’s still people with a sense of humor out there. Funny stuff! 😁
I have an engine with the barking dog. I placed a miniature dog at two places on the side of the track where I usually shut the engine down. Fits right in.

What a great idea!
I forgot all about that barking dog. Now frogs?
It's pretty cool.
In a similar instance I have a battery powered MTH 44 tonner. Listen to this unexpected extended shutdown.
"Plug in the battery charger...". How appropriate.

Does this happen randomly with the extended shutdown sounds or every time the locomotive is shut down?
The dogs and the frogs are in the VO1000 sound set.

It seems to be random but I did hear dogs the last time. It’s really kind of fun if you ask me.
I never really checked for sure, but I believe the barking dog happens at each extended shutdown.

I have some that have noise making creatures. Surprised me at 1st. Pretty cool.
We have a member of our TTOS group that has an MTH engine with an odd sound file that plays 'I think I can, I think I can" at times. The group thought he was joking until he demonstrated it for other members. Then, during a York meet some of the group asked MTH about it. MTH confirmed that during a late night, they were tired and decided to have fun with "a couple" of the engines by including some non-prototypical engine sounds!
