I have at least two #64 MTH street lights that do not work because the connection between the base of the light and the power wires is not tight.   The way these worked is that there was a metal strip that put pressure on the wire and made the connection.  You would take the power wires and slide them into place.

Now seems my metal strips do not hold with enough friction to keep the connection tight.  So what I think I need are new metal strips or the entire plastic/metal base piece, see picture, or if not available a work around for this issue.  Many thanks.

To eliminate the obvious first, can you verify that the lamps are not burnt out, no loose connections inside the post and the bulb is secure in the socket if present?

In the picture, only one wire is visible.  Are there two wires between the black clip assembly and the lamp or just one?  If just one, it may be relying on a ground connection through the Lamp pole's metal housing.  If so, the electrical connection between them may be causing the issue and may be improved by tightening the screw securing the ground from the clip assy. to the base.

If there are in fact two wires between the wire clip plate assembly and the lamp pole and all of the other connections are secure, then soldering feeder wires to the clips should fix the issue.
