I asked MTH on Face book about the Reproduction 'Tinplate MARKLIN LEIPZIG Station', that MTH is now making, and this is the question and response "Is the MARKLIN LEIPZIG TINPLATE STATION, that Mike Wolf mentioned, yesterday, going to be badged with the Marklin Logo ?..." ......" That is a question that is pending Mr. Gardner. I believe it will be, but still a few things need to be worked out. It is a beautiful station. I have seen our prototype it is rather amazing. Thank you for the question".........

Now it`d be great to see European Tinplate Engines from MTH...
If it's one-half as good as the original it would be a big "maybe" for me. Honestly, I do not think that the ones that are doing MTH's litho work at present can pull it off.
The old world pride in workmanship just isn't there. We all know that QC for sure will be questionable at best. I could go on and on. I think that there will be others who share the same feelings.
Thanks,
John.
Mike Wolf just announced it yesterday at the Toy Train Museum presentation, but I haven`t seen any pictures yet, other than looking on the search engines for photos of the original..
There's a picture of it at the MTH Booth in the Orange Hall (which can now be photographed). I asked what size it was and the MTH person I talked to wasn't sure but felt it was probably appropriate for O scale.
Do a Google search of marklin leipzig station and an images link comes up. The Marklin station is beautiful. Magnificent. It must be enormous in O gauge.

This Photo on MTH`S Facebook page has a picture of the LEIPZIG TINPLATE STATION in the middle right of the photo... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151838012254159&set=a.10151838008619159.1073741875.85108529158&type=1&theater
Here`s a picture of the Model I believe MTH is making... http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=marklin+leipzig+station&FORM=HDRSC2#view=detail&id=9B7DEA302FD7B80BFBE3C62626F17F562EC6B9A7&selectedIndex=14
There is quite a lot of Lithographing on this piece, the only Litho I know of MTH doing is on the Mr. ATOMIC Battery Toy and Highway Henry Wind-up Toy and they seem to have been done very well, just from pictures...
MTH is now Posting some pictures of the Leipzig Station... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151840759464159&set=ms.10151840759464159.10151840759539159.bps.a.10151840758189159.1073741876.85108529158&type=1&theater
I`m just guessing, but I would think Marklin made Domestic versions and versions for Export...
I`m suspecting that this will be some sort of arrangement with Marklin for Badging and Busch for sales outlets where the wording will be in german in europe...
It looks great but why wasn't it in the new catalog? Also, why do I feel like this may cost a couple mortgage payments?
I was listening to Mike Wolf on TCA`s NETVISION and he mentioned that the last one of these Original Stations to sell in Europe went for $26,000.00......
A complete original gauge 1 version (with a square cupola instead of round) and the two waiting halls, filler pieces and side walls typically goes for around 40k in like new condition.
He is showing a gauge 0 version, and I do not see all the waiting halls in the pictures, but that does not mean he will not make them.
The station pictured in Gardner's link is the gauge 1 version (taller and with a square cupola)
The litho on the side roofs and bases is not a lot to do, the rest of the building can be painted.
Just my 2¢
Roland
If this is indeed 0 gauge, it will be a sensation. I imagine MTH will be testing the water in Europe with this. I have no doubt the lithography will be excellent.
I`m hoping that these sort of Lithographed items might get MTH into the American and European Passenger and Freight Cars that were Lithographed...
