Some pointers please. My triplex, with smoke off, goes around the curves and straight-aways and slows down when putting the smoke on. I just checked wiring and everything seems to be ok. Just wanted to know if anybody out there has a triplex that does the same thing. If not, how about a tip? If anybody out there has a triplex, I would like to put it on my platform to see if its the engine or my platform (O72 radius. I already returned it to MTH and they sent it back saying it was ok, but it still slows down on the radius. Also I'm running a Z4000 with DCS. I live in Ridley Park, Pa. Thank you!

The Triplex has 2 smoke units. Turn your layout on with nothing on the track. Read amos. That is base line. Now put triplex only on and power up and let it start up smoke off. Measure V and A. Now turn on smoke and read V and A. Report results.
When you turn smoke on your pulling another amp plus and you will see set voltage drop on Z-4000. You can compensate with additional voltage by raising handle, if not already at full on (20-22V). G
I'm having the same issue as John with my PS3.0 triplex. It will slow down in curves on the club layout.
This engine is supposed to have a cruise control feature, so I would think it should not be slowing down.
has anyone else had trouble out of their triplex?
I bought the Premier Triplex with 3.0 back in June, 20-3612-1. Mine also slows down when negotiating curves. I don’t think it has anything to do with the smoke being on tho. It seems to me that the drive shaft is so long that it binds up even when going around my O-72 curves. I’ve been meaning to take it apart to see if any adjustments can be made.
