What's the model number of the locomotive (i.e. 20-XXXX-X or 30-XXXX-X)?
Tom......... also.....how long have you had it ? What transformer are you using ?🤔
PURCHASED IN 2002 NEW PREMIER TRIPLEX INSTALLED BCR FEW YEARS AGO USING 180 BRICK THRU TIU JUST WILL NOT POWER UP EITHER WITH THE TIU OR CONVENTIONALLY SMALL CLICK COMING FROM TENDER WHEN POWER IS APPLIED NO SOUNDS OR LIGHTS-DO KNOW IF IT IS THE BOARD OR THE BCR-NEVER HAD A BCR GO BAD AND WHEN THE BOARD IS DEFECTIVE THERE IS USUALLY SOUND OR LIGHTS BUT NO MOVEMENT
Tom, what is the MTH product number of the Loco?
I have the same locomotive. I was running it one evening and it just stopped dead. The problem I finally discovered was that the tether between the engine and the tender has come undone. Once I plugged the tether back in firmly the engine was fine. Don't blame the BCR. Check the TETHER!
THXS I ALREADY DID SEEMS TO BE IN TIGHT I WILL RE CHECK THE CONNECTION AGAIN
Well if it's from 2002 then it has a PS2 5V board. If the tether is tight then it's very likely the PS2 5V board is dead. The only repair is a PS32 board.
Tom, please turn your caps lock off. In the For What It Is Worth department, all caps is the internet equivalent of yelling at the top of your lungs. I doubt you mean to be doing that.
Thank you!

Tom , I had a couple PS2 steamer's tethers that were OK but I found the board in the engine that the tether plugs into had bad solder connections. I resoldered the wires and everything was good. Might be worth a look. 🤔
The wires at that board are packed together tightly and I think the motor turning back and forth might have pulled on a couple wires after some time.
