Hey guys, I’m looking at a mth Christmas trolley and had a few questions. Can these things go at fairly slow speeds (I’m not sure if the Lionel can or not). Also how are they with cw80s? I’ve seen older Lionel transformers work with them, but know the protosound engines hate Lionel power. Furthermore, any preference between Lionel or mth trolleys? Thanks

The list of approved Transformers in the user manual does not list CW80, it can run a bit slower even than I have it in the video, much lower and you may get erratic LED lighting.

I use a Lionel 1033 with it, got it at CW trains for like 40 bucks.
Just so you know, performance varies.
My son and I each have the exact same MTH trolley (including the road name).
I can slow mine down to a crawl and he cannot. This was tested and confirmed using the same test run and several AC transformers.
He ended up using an MRC DC transformer to slow it to a crawl.
