I have two MTH engines that are PS-1 and because I run in DCS they hardly ever run.  If they are run, only for a few minutes and then put back on the shelf.  I assume the installation cost would be well over$200 to $300.  I paid just over $300 for the engines.   As for myself, if I were to buy a used PS-1 engine.  I would pay, half of that or less.  I think most would too.  What's your thought?

If I have the upgrades done.  Has anybody had any problems with the up grade?

I would like to keep the replaced PS-1 Boards.  Is that possible? Storage is the concern.

Is it possible to keep the PS-1 Board?

Yes it is possible to keep the PS-1 Board just make sure you keep it intact as possible and do a notation of which wires went where to use in another engine or to put back into the engine you took it out of.  The PS-2 is a complete set up has every thing in it to do the conversion.  Unless it is a Steam Engine, If Steam engine you have to modify the Smoke unit board according to instructions that is in the PS-2 Kit

Missabe Go to the MTH Protosound 2 Webssite and download the instructions for the PS2 Kit you need and read through them.

Good Luck

Maybe a technician  would be interested.
