MTH WIFI System

1) It's still in limited Beta testing

2) There will be a feature limited free app and a pay version with extra features

3) You will need one wifi adapter per TIU, Estimated  price $180.00 last I heard

Saw it at York in October, looks promising

This could get expensive, if you have two or three TIU's it would require $360 or $540 worth of parts plus a 120 volt outlet?

In an earlier thread about the MTH WiFi, it was stated that at York Mike Wolf indicated that one WiFi adapter could be connected to multiple TIU's.  The WiFi system that was demonstrated at York was not the product that MTH will be shipping.

That was an erroneous statement. Each TIU will require its own Wii Module.

thats odd, the one at York looked pretty nice. Or do you mean that it will be different in the sense that it won't be running connected via a server.

not sure where you heard Mike say it would support multiple TIUs. He was quite clear at York, one adapter per TIU

at least that is what the catalog says... Charlie has them on preorder for about 162.00

The WiFi Module will not be available next month.

I was not at York.  But, in a post on October 18th, GRJ stated "Mike Wolfe waved the WiFi unit around at the OTR Grandstand meeting and stated one per layout, even with multiple TIU's.  I would hope he knows what he's talking about." 

Obviously, he heard something different than you did.

Barry has indicated that each TIU will require its own WiFi module.  Barry, do you know if something changed in MTH's design since October?  Was Mike wrong at York or giving conflicting information to different people? 

I have 3 TIU's for my layout.  Some of the larger clubs must have many, many TIU's.  If a WiFi unit (at $179 list) is required for each TIU, that really stinks.

Yea. That was kind of a deal breaker for us since we have six TIU's on the club layout. I'm planning to buy one for testing purposes and when we do setups at Pershing Square. It's too bad it couldn't send a radio signal to the TIU's a'la Super TIU mode.

At the Friday seminar Mike did say one per TIU.  It's hard when you are trying to get a lot of information out in a little time at the OGR Grand Stand meeting.  I'm sure he misspoke.  Barry of course would know so along with what I heard at the seminar plus Barry's confirmation, 1 per TIU.

Might as well just buy another remote hand held.

Yes, things changed.

So this is starting to sound a bit concerning about the way forward for the DCS app

And I still stand by the statement that both Mike and Dave said at the seminar at the MTH booth, one wireless adapter per TIU.  I didn't make the grandstand meeting and I do not thing it was recorded, so who knows what was said there

Barry said earlier in this thread 1 WiFi per TIU.  This was my understanding since October's York as well.  I'm not sure where the concern is coming from.

As far as it not shipping in March, given all the manufacturers, that's really not a surprise.  Much like anything else, it gets here when it gets here.  I'm sure Dave is making it work.

The DCS app and the WiFi module are alive and we'll, and in development. Like a lot of things, it's just taking a bit longer than originally expected. Be patient, I guarantee that it's coming!

 I just got my new TIU in. It is the latest version L. Will the adapter hook up to all TIU's? Just new L's? Certain ones only??

This is going to get expensive quickly!

Yes, it will connect to any TIU.

So I have 4 TIU's so its gonna cost me $720 to set up my layout for the iphone App, that seems extremely unreasonable
