I had two Z-4000s - bought around 2002 or so. I found them to be a bit quirky and I never did like their looks. The voltmeter never worked correctly on both of them.
I sold them in 2014 and bought one ZW-L. Perfect solution. For me.
My dad had a ZW-L - bought around 2015 or so. We found it to be a bit quirky and didn't like how it ran postwar trains. The chopped sine wave made them buzz much more.
He sold it six months after getting it and put the Z4000 back in place. Perfect solution for him.
