I would like to know if could use the hand held system to run o gauge and ho gauge on the same layout at the same time. thankyou.

If you mean MTH O and HO with DCS, yes. Obviously not on the same track:-) Plus you need to ensure a DC Power source for the HO trains. G

You might be able to run both if the MTH is a PS-3 and MTH H.O. But not on the same power supply to the tracks, you need a seperate set of wires from the DCS base to each set of tracks. At least that is how I am reading and understanding comments about how to do that on different forums postings.
