Will having two Wi-Fi units in the same vicinity cause any sort of interference?

I believe they must be set up together. One is set as the master per the manual.
I only have one so I haven't tried 2.

Is this still the case if they’re on separate layouts with separate TIUs?
Max, in your situation you'll want to to treat each WIU/TIU combo as a separate entity. They won't interfere with each other but you will need to be careful as to which WiFI network you connect so as to make sure your are controlling the desired layout.
