As I expand my layout and add more track at what point do I need to add a second TIU ? I have a 8x25 layout with a turntable. 3 Port terminal blocks going into one TIU with two channels jumped into one Z-4000. I am wondering if it would be happier adding a second TIU ?

When, after adding additional track, you have insufficient DCS signal strength, or need additional channels for control or power.
If I understand, you still have 1 spare channel? I'd guess you're still in pretty good shape .
If you expand you'll probably need more power as well.
To answer your question... Second Tiu not needed until you can't squeeze in anther foot of track and keep a perfect (good) dcs signal. $.02
I run 2 TIUs, mainly because when constructed, before DCS, my 35x16 layout had 6 "power districts," 2 of which are buried storage areas with their own TIU. But I have on occasion added those two to the main TIU for test purposes, with no problems. I can't foresee an 8x25 needing more than one TIU, unless you decide you need more than 4 transformer "handles" to feed trains.
In fact, right now my Rev L main TIU is at MTH for repairs, and most of the layout is running on an original issue Rev G TIU, with no issues whatsoever.
