Hi All

 

I know not many will see these but those who do , hope you enjoy them.

 

Sure wish a bunch of you could have been on this with us.

 

Nancy and I got to ride the Southern 4501 from Bristol TN to Radford VA

and Back this Sunday 6/28/15. A complete 12 hour day....2 1/2 hour lay over in Radford Va.      OUTSTANDING!!!!

 

The Train looked beautiful. Like the engine and all the cars had been detailed ....absolutely perfect.

2. Information about the station. It is also very squared away.

3. The car that we rode in. With 1st class we could go into the rear 3 cars . Dome , food, lounge. Pretty cool.

4. This is our car . The Crescent Harbor had lots of space. Sometimes the crew came back and sat in the car. They said is was one of their favorite cars.

Hope ya all enjoy the pictures. It was a very nice time on the refurbished 1911 steam engine. She rocks!!

 

And a big thanks to Norfolk Southern, Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum and the town of Radford Va.

Wish I would have know another forum member was there.

 

We were on the Bulls gap (engine 630) last year. It was a nice trip as well.

 

Nancy went up in the dome for a while but I liked all that open space in the the Crescent Harbor that we could have met in. It was empty most of the time. Everyone seemed to like the dome more???

Larry, That would have been fun to meet.  We probably walked by each other a couple of times.  I enjoyed the dome and the obs car.  Great trip!  Thanks for the photo.
