Spent all morning at the Indy meet today. Wasn't planning to buy another locomotive, but when I see this Max Gray SD9 on Bill Davis's table for $245, I was not able to pass it by. I had seen this MG junction signal on a table when I first came in to the show, after picking up a couple of twin sealed beam headlight inserts from P&D and finding nothing else that was on my "hot sheet" , I went back and made an offer on the signal which was accepted. Not pictured are 2 All Nation 40' box cars(NKP and P&LE) that I bought off a local modeler on the way to the show for $40 for the pair. The SD is bringing a change of plans on my future layout, with a shift to the DM&IR and an ore dock at one end of the layout and small yard at the other end to shuttle ore jennies(inexpensive older Atlas cars that can be easily found) from the yard to the dock with the SD. We got home just after the noon hour and the mail man delivered my MG NKP Berkshire and caboose. While those nolonger fit the layouts change in theme, they look awsome on the mantle for now till I decide what to do with them(if interested, let me know) Here are some pics! Next year I will budget the whole day for the meet and the layout tours! Mike the Aspie

Nice score!
Excellent assortment of unusual 0 scale street vehicles. Great freight car prices, track and turnouts. Many excellent loco prices. Plus the usual assortment of stuff priced not to sell.
I thought the prices were really good this year, Didn't see as much priced "not to sell" as I have in the past. Seen many good deals on brass engines, brass freight cars, was supprised by the lack of older Altas/Roco freight cars, espically ore jennies(need a gaggle of DM&IR ones!). The gentleman I meet before the show up in Westfield to pick up two freight car and lenses for my NW2, is going to do the paint work on the SD9 once the train account is replenished and the decals arrive from Cederleaf Graphics. I thought overall it was a great show, wish I had more time to spend, but have obligations tomorrow and had to leave around 11:30 this morning to get home and sign for the package with the Berk in it.
Missed seeing you Tom, wanted to thank you again for the benchwork I got 2 years ago, Its finally going to have 2 rail on top of it over this coming winter. Need to build up a couple more to complete the "C" shaped layout. Looks like 48" radius is the happy minimum for the SD9. Goes tighter but the drive shafts start talking and complaining. Debating on the paint sheme, early as delivered with the wide yellow band, or the later arrow head style. One unit, 129, was repainted into the early scheme in the later years pre the bosses and wore that till the end. Mike the Aspie
