I have a MTH P5a Cab #4777 Proto 2 which was running perfect one evening and the next evening it was belly up. The remote shows engine not on track. I have several other Proto 2 locomotives and they run perfect. I tried turning on and off the track power but it is completely dead. Is there some way to reset it before I bring it in to a service center? I also tried add a new engine with no results.

First suggestion would be to replace the battery. Next would be to check for broken wires after the battery replacement.
and after checking for loose wires.... Does anything happen if you hook power directly up to it? Make sure you have a fused supply. It's not tripping anything by your description? I've had a couple engines need to be readded on a test track. Oh Barry....
Unfortunately the battery wasn't the problem or broken wires. The motors do run is you apply power directly to them. I tried deleting before but it won't find the locomotive. I also tried conventional operation on my test track but still no power. I'll probably drop it off on Thursday to a service station. I want to thank all of you for your suggestions.
