My owner bought me sometime ago. Many years I think, but I am a Locomotive and what do I no about time. He was so excited when he bought me. His eyes lit up like the Christmas lights on his tree. I thought I was special. His one true passion and love, but lately he seems to ignore me and here I sit alone on the shelf in some obscure part of this layout. Watching as newer locomotives go by showing off and beaming with joy because they are being admired as I once was. Now, I sit. Collecting this awful dust. Why won't my owner run me? Why does he ignore me? I want to show off too and pull all those cars. I know I can, but he just lets me sit. Gosh, if only I had a chance to run again, perhaps he would admire me as he once did when I was under the tree.

I feel sad and lonely. Ignored. What should I do? How do I get his attention again?

What will become of me?

If only someone would notice me and say, hey look at that cool looking locomotive. Lets run it and see what it can do........

Don't feel so bad.  Chances are your owner will keep buying more and more engines and you will have plenty of company on the shelf.  Ever think of getting a little work done?   A tuck here, a pull there, maybe some cruise and a funky new sound.  Don't sound so defeated.  Darn it man! - upgrade yourself while you're still young!

If you're a steam engine wearing a N&W livery, have your owner put you on eBay. I'll typically go 50 cents on the dollar. When you arrive you'll get run on the modular layout. Like to pull long trains? Me too! Be prepared to pull for several hours or until you get nice and warm.

With my current roster, you'll get run for thousands of visitors within a 2 year rotation. Look at the bright side, you're too small to be cut up for scrap metal! And since beer cans are now aluminum, that unfortunate option is also off the table.

Hello Locomotive.  I am Caboose.  Once, I was a bright red, and had beaming lights inside.  My owner dropped me a few times, and my roof corners broke off, and my lights burned out.  Then, I was thrown into a large box with other old toys, after my original storage box was lost.  After a couple of years, I was taken out of the large box and put into a sand box, pushed through the sand, and left outside to weather and get peed on by the cats.

One morning, I found myself in the garage, with a 25 cent sticker on my roof.  A little boy picked me up and asked his mom if he could have me.  She said yes.  I was taken to a new home, washed and given a fresh coat of paint.  My wheels were oiled and I was hooked up to a wind up train.  Today, I am once again happy to be running around a Christmas tree.  My roof corners are still broken, but the little boy is happy and smiles and makes happy noises when he sees me.  I am happy too.  It's what I am supposed to be doing.  Maybe a new little boy will find you too, and give you a new home. Then all will be well again for you too.

Merry Christmas to one and all.
