Thank you.  I only wish I had more space.   I can't begin to tell you the quality of the shed.  

I would love to see the Oyster Bay branch up close!  What are you running?  Strictly LIRR trains or a mix?  

You are welcome anytime. I run Long Island only! Unfortunately, everything is packed up as I'm in the process of ballasting the yard. Can't really run anything for now, but that will change by the Spring I hope. Check out my build thread here

Thank you Andy.  I live on the Port Washington line.  I wish I had the space you have.  My desires to expand would be possibly half maybe adding a 2x8 board.  Want to add a bride.  Nothing crazy.  I was just looking at your layout.  I impressed you actually modeled it after a real line on the LIRR.  Like yourself I am a huge fan of the LIRR.  Right now believe it or not I am very content with my two locomotives.  Lol. Can't wait to see the finished product on your line.  

Love it , great job, love anything  Joe builds.

Joe has done a couple of custom structures for me...And I am very pleased with the results.  He built a steel and iron fabrication facility (metal prefab building that is to represent an oil field construction facility...pressure vessels, pump jacks and similar large steel structures).  This building is going to be placed in a corner of the layout, so it is a flat on one wall and a "3D" structure that rail cars can enter.

And the second structure was a kit bash of multiple Ameri-Towne flats to create two meat packing facilities...the two sides are painted differently so they represent different companies.  In addition to the color of the window treatment, the entire wall on the opposite side is painted white.  It also has different window and loading dock treatment. 

The structure is tall enough that it creates a view block on my peninsula.  The different visual appearance of the two sides helps pull that off.

My plan is to have Joe build a "slaughter house" to fit on the end of the peninsula to hide the narrow width of the packing houses.  That should complete the "ruse" of the narrow building.

I felt very comfortable in my dealings with Joe.  The structures were EXACTLY what I wanted to fit in with the rest of my layout.  A couple of rough sketches from me...a couple of phone calls and a couple of emails and I got what I expected.

There are a lot of custom builders on this forum and they all do excellent work.  I elected to use Joe for my last two custom builds and have visited with him about a couple of others I want in the near future.

Well, they are two fantastic locos! I really like the engine shed. While most are completely covered, the open sides let you see those beauties awaiting orders. The sanding tower right outside the shed is a great touch. Nice work!

Thank You Tom.  In the beginning I realized not many northeast shops have the half walls for the engine sheds.  But when they moved in I was pretty happy with the way it all looked.  Those two locos are my absolute favorites.  The sanding tower I painted.  All it is a basic MTH sand tower.  I used some left over paint I had for my wife's car.   

Still thinking of ideas for expansion.  Wouldn't mind having a passenger loop and my freight loop.  Looking at Andys layout has me thinking but I dot have the space not the patience to do such an intricate job.  If I expand that means more buildings from Joe!  Haha

I agree this engine shed needs its own thread!! Very nice, it fits perfectly for the space.
