NCE Snubbers

Good morning Group. I am using a 10 gauge main bus for my 2 rail, O scale, around the room layout. Approximately 100 feet of linear track equivalent. Running both DC and DCC, but never together. Will installing NCE Snubbers affect DC operation? Also, the 10 gauge wire will not fit into the snubber connector. Is it acceptable practice to turn the 10 gauge solid wire down to a diameter that will fit?
