I have an MTH RPO heavyweight car which has a broken truck frame.  This type of 6 wheel truck had real coil springs in it as opposed to simulated ones.  It appeared that the casting just decided to explode as I don't think I hit anything with it.  I bought the car used so I don't know what the number is for trying to order a new part from MTH.  This one is lettered Santa Fe and has three doors on each side as well as mail cranes for picking up mail on the fly.  Can someone give me a number for this car please?  Maybe I could just replace it with another type of 6 wheel truck?

Thanks, Ray

May I suggest that you call Midge, in the MTH Parts Dept., and leave her a concise voice message consisting of the model number of the car you have (or the set it was in), your phone number, and mailing address. She will then call you back in a few days, at which time you can then give her your credit card number.

I have purchased quite a few truck assemblies from MTH over the years.

I know this is a roundabout way of getting a part number, but when all else fails I go to the website and start going through the catalogs until I find the car or engine I'm looking for. Now that I have an unit part number I can search for it's parts breakdown.

In MTH's case once you have your part number Midge can help you much more quickly. An e-mail, or voice message can be enough to get her working on it. Of course, you will still have to hook up with her, but just to hand off the card number.

With Lionel Mike Reegan has built their parts department to work much more smoothly on the net. Then again you don't get to talk to Midge, but we can't have everything.
