Need Directions for Setting up Atlas Engine

First, you need  to connect the TIU to the TMCC (or Legacy) Command Base using MTH Cable #50-1034. Once that's done, the process is:

Menu/System/Engine Setup/Add Engine/Add TMCC Engine

There are two things to make sure that you enter correctly:

• When asked for the TIU number to which the command base is connected, select the number of the correct TIU. If you have only one TIU, thsi number is typically "1"
• When asked for the TMCC engine's ID#, enter the correct TMCC ID#. New TMCC engines should come from the factory with "1" as their ID#.

Yes.

In order to operate TMCC engines in command (TMCC) mode from the DCS Remote, you must connect a Lionel command base to your TIU using MTH cable#50-1034.

That is because Atlas O 3-Rail locomotives have the Lionel licensed TMCC, Rail Sounds 4 command control & sound systems. MTH has NOT licensed their DCS system to ANY OTHER manufacturer.

   What you need to do is purchase Barrys DCS O Guage Companion, the latest addition, read it and make a decission as to whether you want to make the investment into Lionels equipment or whether you want to swap for a DCS P2 or P3 engine.  As Hot Water indicated MTH does not license their DCS system to any other manufacturer, however DCS is capable of running TMCC to a point.  Many runners

are operating both thru their DCS system.  The DCS companion explains all this in detail that even a beginner can understand.

Thanks Dave, actually we started out with Legacy but it seemed very cumbersome so I tried DCS and stuck with it, good thing I didn’t EBay my Legacy unit…. I’m going to dust it off and try it out again we have a few other Legacy engines that we can run with it too.
