You K-Line passenger car fans, and I'm one of you, may think this is a heresy--painting a K-L passenger car--and a new one at that.

Bought one of these (the one pictured is from a different listing on the bay) at a good price for a paint project--specifically, a Great Northern Empire Builder train.

My concerns include the removal of the individually applied detail parts; e.g. hand rails, the mail hooks, etc.  Also, although I will convert the lighting to GRJ's LED recipe, how do I deal with the wiring and lighting attachments?

There are some visible screws on the bottom, but are there others that are hidden from view by the trucks, etc.?  How does the interior come out?  And on and on with the questions I could ask.

Before posting I did use the advanced research feature here and got exactly 0 results.

Any and all help will be most appreciated.  And I will take tons of photos during the disassembly process.

This is the first K-L passenger car I've owned and I can now better understand the enthusiasm they generate.
