Well, I took a look and came up somewhat emptied handed as well. The first thing that came to my mind was Ives, but the only thing I could find about was a paper mache tunnel. Lionel made a copper tunnel in the 1920's, and as Colorado Hirailer said Marx's were brightly colored. I tried looking up Ward Kimball's collection(somewhere I have the CTT's with his collection floating around here) and the only thing I could come up with was a picture that had the Lionel tunnel in the background of the standard gauge trains. I would say ask this over in the Tinplate forum and get a picture of both sides of the tunnel as well. It might also be helpful to have the dimensions included so it gives a footprint to how big it is. It is more likely that someone in there would definitely be able to shed light on this.

Hmm, may not be much documented on the internet, maybe check the Library of Congress. Sure that there would be something floating on there. If not there, maybe the Toy Train Museum in PA? I didn't get down there when we were out that way last year to the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum(Or is it the Museum of the Pennsylvania Railroad). I always say it the wrong way.
