Hi,

I was fortunate enough to pick up an interesting collection that included numerous tinplate items.  Originally I thought it was just going to be some custom decorated postwar Lionel tank cars and a few prewar tinplate items.  It turned out to be much more than that.  More to come on those items as I get a chance to take pictures.  Right now, I'm just trying to catalog what I received in this collection and some items I just can't seem to track down.

I think the red double lamp is probably Lionel but I'm not sure.

I have found the clock to be Bing but I'm trying to find a catalog or model number for it.

There are 2 different types of telegraph poles with different styles and bases but could use some help in identifying.

The street light poles are a complete mystery to me.  They are marked Pat. Applied For on the bottom if that helps.

The semaphores are also stumping me.  I think they are the same manufacturer since the bases and the mechanism is the same.  At first I though they were American Flyer but the AF bases seem to have an extra "step" in them.

All of these are Standard Gauge.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Robert and Arne,

Thank you both.  That is very helpful.  The AF semaphores that I found seemed to have a different base but I'm guessing the bases changed over time.

On the Bing Next Train clock, I see that I am missing the signs.  The clock that I have does have slots for them.

I'm still looking for information on the street lamps, telegraph poles, and double street lamp.

Thanks Robert on the #54 double street lamp.  I'm pretty sure it was repainted and any numbers on the bottom were lost.

I'm still looking for help identifying the two different types of telegraph poles and the street lamps.  I think this collection had 10 of the lamps.  I'm pretty sure they aren't Lionel, Ives, or American Flyer since all of their street lamps are much more detailed.  If they were Marx, I would expect to see a Marx engraving on the bottom.

I looked at the Fergusson ones and the tops seem similar but the bottoms are different.  I have found that Fergusson made items for other companies like Hafner and the Hafner pieces may have had the square bases.  However, I haven't found any Hafner catalogs on line to see if they might have listed them.  I may have to try the TCA to see if they have something in their files.

Fergusson made the ones sold under their name with the wire G shaped base. They made them for other companies with the round or square metal bases.
