I know this may be an unusual request, but I am looking for someone who may be able to identify a TCA member that attended the April 2022 York event. We had a gentleman come to our booth in the Orange hall and wanted to purchase some amusement park models. He was quite the negotiator! Other things I remember are: he was a Vietnam veteran and he said he had trouble remembering things. In fact, his phone kept ringing as we talked and when we told him to go ahead and answer it, he said it was only his friends checking up on him to be sure he wasn’t lost. He eventually picked up and said he was in the Orange hall buying a roller coaster. After he hung up, he paid for his purchase and said he would be back to pick it up later…unless his wife found out he made the purchase. Then we might not see him again. Haha. He eventually came back and got the models and all was well. Unfortunately, just a few weeks ago, we received a credit card dispute for the purchase. Even more unfortunate, we did not take down his name or TCA number, and the credit card transaction was through a virtual terminal, so the only info we input was the card info. That’s on us. It was a significant purchase.
What I am hoping for is that someone may know who this gentleman is and can private message me his contact information so we can reach out. I’m not sure if he forgot he made the purchase or perhaps he truly did make it without his wife’s knowledge and she is trying to cancel the transaction. If he no longer wants the product, that is fine, we will take it back. However, as it stands now, we are out $1300 and someone has a small amusement park in their possession. 😊 Thanks!
