A81960E3-FC51-4208-BED8-7C4B8316C4FFThis 385E used to have a strong whistle.  It was dormant for 2 years and now the whistle won’t toot.  What can I do to tune it up so it operates again.  I haven’t opened it up, but see it has 4 screws to take the lid off.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  I really like this engine.

Thanks a million,       WK

Whistle motor needs servicing and lubrication and possibly fan realignment or new motor brushes. Also motor relay may need attention. Open it up and inspect the whistle assembly for any diecasting zinc pest which may have distorted the whistle housing. Fan should turn freely. Also look for any broken or detached wires from the contact roller assemblies.
