This is my first LC+ purchase, and overall I really like it.  Nice detailing, heavy/solid feel, front and back electrocouplers are awesome.  I do have a couple issues out of the box that I need some advice on:

1. the smoke fan makes a high pitch whirling sound.  Is there an easy fix for this?  I'm guessing a little lubrication, but where? and how do I get to it?

2. The headlight doesn't work 99% if the time.  I have seen it flicker on breifly going around an 031 curve, but it mostly doesnt work.

3. the wire tether between the engine and tender seems a little long for the space, causing the wire to push down on the drawbar and create a short when the engine passes over any track that isnt perfectly level

I have no problem opening up a postwar locomotive for fixing/repair, but I am a little cautious about opening this one up.  I'd rather fix it myself, but do I void a warranty (for a potentially bigger issue downt the road) if I open it up? I did purchase it new from a forum sponsor last month, but it came out a year or two ago. Other than a loose wire or two, what am I looking for?    Thanks in advance.

If possible I would suggest getting a replacement first. If it's under warranty I would suggest that next. Moving on to fixing it yourself. I have had the loud fan noise you're getting. What I do is open it up. Get into the smoke unit, take the fan blade piece out and put the tiniest drop of oil applied to the base of the fan shaft. That makes the noise go away. As to your second issue, I would suspect that a loose connection is to blame. Get out your volt meter and check the connections to the light.
