Can someone confirm that the operating searchlight car is supposed to rotate via a powered motor?

This was what I have inside.  I can get a light to light up.   I can't tell if this just holds a light or if it is a rotating motor with light.   I can't get it to rotate with AC or DC.

Thoughts?  Thank you.

Yes that is a "vibro motor" which is nothing but an electro magnet that will vibrate at 60 cycles per second when powered by AC current. It will not vibrate or rotate with DC current and using it can overheat the magnet.  The rubber washer in the last pic should have little fingers on it that will turn the base of the spotlight when the magnet is powered. If the fingers are worn out it will just buzz. You may need a new washer.

Yes, it is supposed to rotate. Does the top half have the rubber washer with the little fingers on it? It's supposed to be attached to the top and then the fingers touch the coil you have pictured. The coil vibrates slightly and since the fingers are slanted, that makes the top rotate.
