Hi seaboard streak,

The Atlas "transition joiners" (half rail joiner / half pin) have proved to be pretty fragile.  They work, but they don't hold up to repeated assembly and disassembly.  The preferred method to join Atlas and Ross or Gargraves is to use the regular Atlas joiners.  With Ross the joiners slip over with a little wiggling.  On Gargraves you first need to grind back the bottom dovetail of the rail and then the Atlas joiners will work just fine.
