That said, since most every diesel (railking and premier) used the same tire, that's the one to remember and stock up on. Again, one tire (DE0000018) covers a huge swath of the entire fleet.

Thanks Vernon. I pulled out some traction tires that came with some my newer Railking engines but the look too 66D5416A-6FC8-4620-AE96-8A4C684AE3F0small. In the picture the one on the right is Railking Deisel and the one on the left is off the Railking Genesis engine. The Genesis traction tire is noticeably bigger than the other one. I can’t find the Genesis engine listed on the MTH site. Sorry to be such a pain.

Measure wheel diameter with calipers. The traction tire chart link also lists what tire based on wheel diameter. Also, traction tires are meant to stretch over the wheel so yes, a new traction tire will be smaller than the wheel by a significant amount.

Again the full PDF chart linked obviously has all the sizes and details, but this snippet shows the relationship between wheel diameter and then the size of the traction tire not stretched on the wheel.

Your Genesis diesel isn't special. It's just another Railking diesel with common trucks.

Proof- parts breakdown for the Genesis https://www.mthpartsandsales.c...lists/252?type=lists

It lists the same traction tire DE0000018.
