Hello Everyone:  I just purchased some brass detail parts for an ALCo RS-3 (i.e. corner marker lights, fan screen, fan blade, etc.).  This will be my first attempt to use brass detail parts.

As the title states, I'm looking for a recommendation for the best glue to use to attach these parts to the plastic model shell.  I tried a Search here on the Forum, but really didn't come up with anything that truly answered my question.  I'm sure several fellow Forumites have been down this road before...hoping someone could give me real-world advice.  Thanks!

Thin set CA is pretty aggressive.  I usually dab a small drop on a piece of wax paper, or similar surface, then use a small brass wire.  Dip the brass wire in the CA and then touch the CA to the detail piece.   Install, it should set in place quickly.  Medium thickness/set  allows for more work time, but as the viscosity goes up, it becomes sloppy, IMO.  You may want to practice, I never had any luck applying directly from the bottle, even though they normally have long pointed tubes for application.   Mike

Gorilla Glue "Superglue" has some pliability and is a medium set CA.  Locktite has gel CA that has a slow/medium set capability.  The Locktite stuff also works well with accelerant/freeze compounds.  The rubber additives in the Gorilla Glue not so much.  I've used both and for what you are talking about doing the Gorilla product may have a slight edge in terms or durability but may be more difficult to use.
