Nevada Northern Railway

Having crossed Nevada east to west, through Ely, probably before the museum was established,  and hauled a loaded trailer down its length from Reno through Vegas, I think Nevada is about as out of the way as you can get.

I would have loved to see close up photos of the yard buildings, that coaling tower,

etc.

I usually haul my glider buddy up there a couple times each summer.  I love visiting the place.  Takes 3 hours from San Diego, and 28 gallons of gas.  We ride the train when the gliding is not so good.

E.W.:  Really liked your photos and wished that I could have their "Be the Engineer" program.  I went there about three years ago, while I was in Las Vegas for a show.  About a five hour drive, at close to 100 mph, but it was the last day for steam trips before winter.  We rode behind #98 and had a nice ride.   I've always threatened to come back to take that ride behind the throttle. 

But what a great place to visit.  Imagine:  A museum with vintage equipment that was actually purchased new for that RR.  And they let you have access to their shop, the storage buildings, pretty much anywhere you wanted to go to photograph the place.  One thing that I will look forward to seeing are some of the recently restored items that were done on American Restorations on the History channel.
