Here is the first set of castings I pulled from the molds. These will be Metals Bank & Sisters of Mercy Thrift Store. They should be ready in about 3 weeks. Will post pics of the pilot models as soon as they are done. Why do I work in plaster? You just don't get detail & character like this in plastic kits.

Didn't realize you were over here Randy!

The masters look great! Nice to see new O scale items.

One question if I can????

Why plaster over resin?? Purely cost issue???

I have a number of your kits, and they are nice.....but plaster always worries me about aging or me just bumping them hard and destroying them. Resin has it's own issues...but some of the modern resins are great.

I know the resin works differently but I get resin to look just as good.

Thanks

Hi Dave. I looked into doing resina  couple of times but the guys who buy my kits just seem to like the plaster better. For me, it's less expensive, takes paint better 7  is easier to cut & shape> if you ever get a broken part/parts for any reason let me know & we'll replace them no charge. Look it it this way, once you get the building done & set on your layout it will be fine. before then, if dropped on a concrete floor, it will react just like anything delicate. Don't worry, try one. :

I purchased the "First Timer Bar" a few months back. I managed to break a side wall while priming it. I e-mailed Downtown Deco. to try and purchase another side wall, and they (Randy) sent me one free. I broke the wall, I should have to pay. That's customer service! Look forward to seeing how this latest offering looks finished.

A few pics of my First Timer Bar kit.
