Pilotage Fun & Hobby has opened in Manhattan. The address is 389 Fifth Avenue but the entrance is on E. 36 Street between Fifth and Madison. It's a small store and the trains are all Bachmann products so Williams is represented well. The prices are a little higher because they have new trains but the service is good. They also have R/C cars and planes.

So I went by today. It is located on the block diagonally across from the Empire State Building  so if you collect comics it is very close to Jim Hanleys Comics it could make for an expensive trip.

It is a very nice store with a large staff. I had a nice conversation with the owner. Who was very nice and in his 30's or early 40's. It is nice to se some of us younger guys in the hobby.  Train wise they are exclusively
Bachmann in N, HO and O. He said the addition of O scale was last minute but popular. He said he was surprised how many people had Lionel in Manhatten. They have been open for about a month and a half and seem to be doing great and attracting attention.
For some Reason I can't add onto my last post.

They had a nice fully sceniced. 3x2 ft HO scale layout with trains running when I went in. Half the stock is RC boats Helecopters Planes Cars and trucks. The other were trains. There was also a nice Rokenbok selection and layout.
I do wish them luck.
They do have some buyers rewards system as well that keeps track of amounts spent and gives discounts at milestones and sends special sale announcements.

This brings the Manhattan hobby shop count to 3 with Gotham trains at 36 and 8th and Red Caboose at 46 and 5th.
