FINALLY, after ordering these in October of 2016 the Broadway Limotrd Cars for the GG1 have finally made their debut. I am waiting on 4 more from Charles Ro. I’ll post a detailed video later.

They look good! Really not sure why Lionel kicked off the 21" series with the "kinda looks like a Budd if you squint" cars, instead of starting with prototypical ones like this set and the UP cars.
Very nice thanks for sharing.
Yes - those look quite good!
Here is a short video of the unboxing and quick running session behind 4913.
Great video Chris. Leaving shortly to pick up all my PRR cars at Charles Ro. My Freedom Train and UP are also in. I have no idea where they will live on the layout. I have some older PRR aluminum (Lionel) cars that may see Forum time.

Marty,
sounds like Ike a great Saturday! I’m impatiently waiting for a bill and subsequent shipping notification from Charles Ro for the 4 pack. Depending on how much I like them I may have to look for the other 2 pack or station sounds diner pack. We shall see.
Congratulations Chris. Thanks for the video. The cars look great, especially behind that scale GG1.
My VISA got dinged yesterday from Charles Ro for my UP passenger cars. Expected delivery is Tuesday!
Have fun.

Enjoy!

Great video. So did Lionel address the gap between the car body and the top of the truck? Cant really tell from the video. The bodies still seem to be sitting high above the body. Just not sure. Anyone out there know?
Having owned the first release of cars, these cars look a lot better both in terms of ride height (no longer high water) and detail.
Beautiful cars and engine. Nice looking layout too. Enjoy it.

Question, should these PRR cars have had Roof Vents, prototypically ?
Thanks

The diagrams in the October 1994 issue of Model Railroader magazine (Broadway Limited foldout spectacular, as the cover said, part of Robert S. McGonigal's article on the train's 1949 edition) of the 10-6 P-S Rapids series (which included both Schuylkill Rapids and Conemaugh Rapids) show three roof vents: one at either end (but inboard of the door on the door end) and one in the middle of the car. They are vents to the side that do not affect the roof profile. (I had to look twice to see they were indeed there - they are almost like black on black or at least very dark on very dark). I don't know but it seems it should be possible to add these if they are available as separate detail parts.
Thank you, Chris, for sharing your pictures and video - very nice.
