Anyone received these new SD45's...pics anyone????

I'm waiting for a video other than the train world one. Only reason I say that is they had the preproduction K4 as well and the soundest used ended up being different.
Right!!!
Well since you've asked, and Fedex promptly delivered my SP "Bloody Nose" version this morning, here's some pics and impressions.
First, nothing was broken or inoperative out-of-the-box. I lubed and greased it up along with adding smoke fluid. One caveat, it looks like the factory actually left some fluid in the smoke units this time as my "normal" first load just about quenched the smoke output for the first two or three minutes and then she started to smoke profusely-try about ten drops out of the box first.....
All sounds are Legacy as far as announcements; it does sound like the prime mover sounds are new; maybe Lionel actually recorded a 20 cylinder 645.
One thing included in the box, but not discussed anywhere are two metal spacer blocks to apparently mount Kadee couplers along with six micro screws to attach them to the Kinematic pilots.
I will post a movie this Saturday. Without further delay......

Nice! It looks like they did a great job on them. Plus they added the mounting pads and screws for fixing the pilot. Thanks for sharing.
Just notice, on the rear, they even put the rubber trim around the number boards.
Can you tell us what it's minimum radius is? I can't remember and don't have the catalog in front of me.
Thanks,
George
NICE, Ive got the Ol Hustle Muscle on the way now
My Southern hi hood is at my hobby shop, I will have it soon....It's Exciting...
D&H 65. I like your Southern Pacific with the bloody nose....Wow!!!
Matt, I saw that engine at the Jackson Street Roundhouse about 3 years ago. Neat engine. Hope you enjoy it.
Fedex dropped one off from the Worm farm this afternoon. Havent had a chance to open it yet. Hopefully tonight.
These have flown out the door since they arrived - I haven't even opened one for pictures..... we have two Hustle Muscle's left and one each of the EL's and that's it.....
- Lionel 6-83371 - Legacy SD45 Diesel Locomotive Great Northern "Hustle Muscle" #400
- Lionel 6-83368 - Legacy SD45 Diesel Locomotive "Erie Lackawanna" #3607
- Lionel 6-83369 - Legacy SD45 Diesel Locomotive "Erie Lackawanna" #3618
- Lionel 6-83370 - Legacy SD45 Diesel Locomotive "Erie Lackawanna Bicentennial" #3632
My Hustle Muscle just landed on my doorstep. I'll open it up here in a little while.
ill bet that Erie bicentennial & Hustle Muscle are really nice
The box end flap lists the minimum radius as 0-54.
One other detail; the removable radiator fan panel on the roof is held by two magnets at the very rear of the panel and the front of the panel has two plastic arms that grip under the panel in front of it. To remove it and access the volume control and three control slide switches, lift at the very rear of the panel.
I presently have about one hour's run-time on my unit with no issues to report.
How is the horn? New recording or one of the older generic ones?
do the cab doors open?

are the roof fans the same as Lionel describes it in the stock photo
Doors appear to be fixed; the horn is a possible re-run. Video tomorrow or Saturday at the latest.

They do not.
Worms!
Same old horn.
Runs fine out of the box. Mine had no orange module in the box.
DONT lift it by the dynamic brake blister. It's a separate piece and it doesn't appear to be held on by much.

Anyone get an Erie yet? And for those with the Hustle Muscle, hows the paint job?

Didn't know the Erie Railroad ever had SD45 units, especially since the Erie Railroad was gone before the SD45 model was even developed.
Lookin good... would love a EL and the EL 1776...hmm
Erie lackawanna

EL 1776 was a U34CH used on the commuter trains, not an SD45.
The paint is nice but it's shinier on the real one
I'm interested in the Great Northern version, but will have to see some photos of it first. I don't trust Lionel's color match of Omaha Orange anymore after their disasterous rendition of the color on their GP35. Their earlier Legacy GP-9 wasn't much better.
Does anyone care to post a pic of the GN400? Pics are worth more than a thousand words.

Agreed, I'm in the same boat...would like to see before I buy.

I was talking with Matt last night, and he mentioned that was going to take his model over at Jackson Street and set it on the Hustle Muscle, and take some comparison shots. We shall see then how well Lionel did when he posts them.

So the real GN 400 is back at Jackson Street now? I assume the broken crankshaft is not fixed yet? Would appreciate any information regarding plans to repair/return 400 to service.
Uh oh, how/when did they break the crankshaft? That unit shout have received a new, up-graded crankcase sometime after 1973, under an EMD warranty "policy adjustment".

Hadn't heard about this. It's been a couple of years since my last visit. I called over there, so I thought, but got an offsite ticketing agent that knew nothing about it whatsoever. Her response was a what's that. I guess Matt will find out when he stops by.
It wont be until I get back from Argentina on the 12th but I will go and see and visit with my Charlie Brown too.

Sorry, Matt, but we can't wait that long. You need to stop over there after work today, tomorrow at the latest. Besides, Charlie misses you...

What makes it worse is the other one lionel produced #2519 is a BN reporting mark and the engine was painted in the BSB scheme. I have a picture of that engine as a BN patch job.
I received my Southern Railway SD45s from Brian at Legacy Station earlier this week.
