Arno Baars passion was "Modern Era Standard Gauge " (1960-current) . Arno did meticulous research interviewing as many of the surviving manufacturers of the trains as possible.
Unfortunately Arno passed away in 2016 leaving his 18 years of research unpublished. David Carse has done a marvelous job bringing Arno's dream into reality .
Hot off the press "Not Your Daddy's Standard Gauge" ...with 648 pages will stand as the "Gold Star" encyclopedia covering all the manufacturers their trains and their stories.
The book is a must for your library.

CMTLLC@gmavt.net Just gave my address and PayPal to the same email address ... and boom! Ordered!
The book is a treasury of information that would be lost forever if not for Arno and David. David Carse spent countless hours sifting through and organizing Arno's information, and he wrote most of the text. Despite all of that, he is very modest about taking credit for his contribution. Please show appreciation for this effort by buying the book.
And be sure to read the introduction before you dig into the chapters about the various manufacturers.
Can it be ordered by other means than PayPal?

Your mail carrier will get a hernia.
The most expensive addition to my train room! Not the price of the book but the potential purchases it may (will) cause. So much information. Items I never knew existed but suddenly find myself needing David Carse has done an incredible job putting all of Arno's research into this wonderful reference book. Thank you to everyone that had a hand in making it happen. Arno would love this!!!

Fortunately for my bank account, most of the items (other than McCoy) are pretty scarce, so there's less opportunity for temptation. OTOH, Jim Waterman is making some interesting stuff, and he'll be getting some of my money.

Waterman Locomotive Works has lots of eye candy. Picked up a Challenger from Jim last year. Thinking I may need a Zephyr next!

Hi George, just sent you a note. There should be a bunch of old posts on here that will highlight some of my stuff.
I've been at it for almost 7 years now.
Jim
Just received my book by Arno Baars and David Carse. It’s an excellent reference and worthy of the purchase purchase.
Thanks,
