I glanced at the new catalogue and was confused by the Premier "Dash 8" offering. What is depicted in the pictures are Dash 9 bodies on Dash 8 trucks. I presume there is an error (or two) in the catalogue, but no one can tell with any confidence what you plan to offer. A clarification would be helpful

By the way, I hope at some point you will offer the Union Pacific Dash 8-40CW in the as-delivered paint scheme, not the "flag" scheme shown in the catalogue.

Thanks,

RM

After the last MTH disappointing release of the ES44ACs I think MTH is not that concerned with prototypical details anymore. The Dash 8/9 could be a mix of both. Both models have visual production changes, radiators, vents, fuel tank contour, etc. MTH using a Dash 9 body with Dash 8 trucks would not be out of the question, but it would be correct for a CSX C44-9. I'd have to see an actual model to be sure.

The Prototype Dash 9 is also about three feet longer than the Dash 8 and the fuel tanks are different. The two MTH models don't really have any significant interchangeable parts--body shells, trucks, frames, tanks, all are different and MTH has different tools for them. So I don't see this as a cost-saving measure. I'm assuming some kind of catalogue art error, but because whomever executed the catalogue art may not know what they are trying to depict, the customer can't know what MTH is trying to offer.
