I have well over 50+ MTH engines new and old in my fleet and frequently run trains with very reliable MTH engines not giving me problems for many many years. I purchased anew MTH PS3 Premier F7 A&B set and over the last few months have been having weird electronic issues with the powered A unit? It works most of the time but occasionally just stops working and then after a week it runs again fine. The other day was running, it working fine headlight working directionally. Stopped it for a while when I started it up again the headlight was out in forward coming on in reverse? Any problems like this? Anyone having problems with the new PS3 engines? I need to mail it away to a service center if I can not get it to work properly.

You said the magic words... F7.

I have many MTH engines that run well also.  But my MTH PS3 F7's ran terribly.   Like you, sometimes they ran fine and other times they gave me fits.  I ran with the controller and with the app.  No difference.   As GGG has suggested I did factory resets and they would run fine for a while, but revert back to poor performance next session.

These were supposed to be my dream engines, but they were a nightmare.  I finally gave up and now run them in DCC mode using BlueRail and battery.  They run 100% better.

I know that's not what you want to hear... but I'm wondering if MTH did not have a quality problem with a run of these things.
