Proper training begins with REAL Lionel MADE IN NEW JERSEY.
Even BETTER than Chesterfield, MI!
Finally some respect for New Jersey

Here are some pics of the items Grandpa gave us. The loco and passenger cars work. No horn or smoke from the loco. The tower has one light that works. Not bad considering they were made in the mid 40s and have been sitting in the attic since 1995. Will be taking the engine and tower to the local train guy to see if they can be repaired.

that's some nice stuff - esp the 156 station platform.
Can't go wrong w/ postwar!
That looks a lot like a 2026 Praire of the early release - 1947. It is also the correct tender. That was my first Lionel train.
Repairing all of the equipment is really quite enjoyable and not too difficult. If your inclined, just ask for a little help and you'll get lots of responses and info on how to proceed.
looks like an early version 2025 to me
the 2025/675/2035 are a real pain to take apart. At least the tender is easy
